The Guardians of Childhood Program is designed for schools, community organizations, groups and families seeking to increase childhood health and holistic (social, emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual) wellbeing. As all our children are merely reflecting the environment in which they live......this is transformational work done for the children through the adults in our communities.
The Guardians of Childhood Program is best described as foundational education and support for those at the helm. As increasing numbers of adults gain the awareness, knowledge and support they need, they are more readily able to nurture the children and young adults for whom they care.
Program Outcomes include:
- Greater awareness regarding the impact of 21st century factors on children, young adults, and our communities
- Increased motivation to practice, parent, and teach according to one's inherent wisdom
- Increased ability to address challenges through implementing root-based solutions versus quick-fix, or punitive measures
- Increased experience of social-emotional safety among adults and the children for whom they care
- Greater satisfaction with role (i.e. parent, teacher, program administrator)
- Increased reliance on holistic, wholesome, wisdom-driven values and conclusions about the meaning of behaviors/symptoms, rather than reliance on status quo norms and/or reductionist labeling
- Increased capacity to understand how adult stress, mood, and energy impacts others and how to make changes accordingly
- Greater levels of responsibility and accountability among adults, and, the children for whom they care
- Increased compassion, understanding, joy, forgiveness, lightheartedness and willingness to promote the W.I.L.D of Childhood
- Increased wellbeing (social, emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual) among adults and children alike
Program Participants report being:
- Eager to connect and delve into their own growth throughout the Program, and beyond
- Inspired by their developing capacity to truly show up for, and guide, the children for whom they care
- Grateful they are not alone, as they readily build community with other Guardians of Childhood and look toward sustainability
- Highly motivated to implement the wholesome principles and practices they've learned in the Guardians of Childhood Program!
